When Bioshock 2 launched, 2K Games said they would release both multiplayer and single-player oriented downloadable content. They only recently released the Protector Trials pack, a set of single-player challenges. Now, luckily, a new single-player narrative has been announced: Minerva’s Den.
This is the first time players will be able to dive back into Rapture in a new storyline. 2K’s president Christoph Hartman describes the new DLC as “a substantial addition that will give players more of what they’re looking for: more story, more narrative, more gameplay, and more Rapture.”
Brigid Tenenbaum returns in Minervea’s Den, working to unravel a new dictator’s stranglehold in a key district. In addition, there will be new weaponry, splicers, security bots, and even a new kind of Big Daddy.
Sadly, this will be the final piece of downloadable content for Bioshock 2. The game had a good run, though, considering both multiplayer and downloadable content that extended both single and multiplayer modes was a first for the series.
No word yet on how much Minerva’s Den will cost, but it’s my guess it’ll be at least $15. It will release for Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and Games for Windows-LIVE
