Verizon FiOS Magically Appears on Xbox This Holiday

Today Verizon has announced that they will offer a selection of live FiOS TV channels for the Xbox 360. The channels will, of course, only be available for Gold members who also subscribe to the FiOS service. It will also support the Kinect’s voice and gesture commands and become available ‘next month.’

New customers have a special ‘triple-play’ deal that bundles FiOS TV, FiOS 35/35 mbps internet, and voice service for $89.99 a month. They also get a free year of Gold membership and Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary. That’s a pretty good deal if you’re interested in the services but who really watches TV anymore? That might just be me though. I will admit that having all this TV content on the Xbox without needing any other equipment is the best part and should be how all TV service providers offer all their content. HINT HINT.

Comcast and HBO have also announced similar deals with Microsoft. The full press release can be seen here if you want to know all the details/pr fluff.
