As we’ve reported before, Minecraft developers Mojang have been in a legal battle over the RPG giants Bethesda over the name of an upcoming Mojang release. (For previous articles go here!)
The case, it seems, has been settled for now. Earlier today Notch tweeted that:
“We won the interim injunction! We can keep using the name “Scrolls”. ZeniMax/Bethesda can still appeal the ruling, but I’m very happy,”
This is a big win for the indie devs, and though Bethesda can still appeal it would seem unlikely that an appeal would work. So now you can expect everything Scrolls related to go on as planned! If the surprise success of Minecraft is anything to go by, Notch and Mojang are likely to have a brilliant future in the games industry.
