Gamers take note: the backdrop of a futuristic 2023 New York City dystopian scenario just got a taste of legendary cinema soundtrack productions.
Electronic Arts and Crytek have announced that Hans Zimmer, the composer behind portions of the soundtracks for blockbuster films that include Inception and The Dark Knight, has contributed part of the musical score for Crysis 2, which is available for a short preview of the introductory opening of the soundtrack. Zimmer joins previously-signed composers Borislav Slavov and Tilman Sillescu in crafting the score for what is expected to be one of the premier titles for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC video gaming platforms.
“I was drawn to Crysis 2 because of Crytek’s passion for the project and the world they created,” Hans Zimmer notes in a statement. “And I am very happy with the outcome of our collaboration.”
Crysis 2 releases to market in North America on March 22, and launches in the UK on March 25.
