New Western Map Unveiled For The Escapists 2

Publisher Team17 along with developer Mouldy Toof have unveiled a new Western-themed map for the upcoming sequel of 2015’s award-winning sandbox prison-escape game, The Escapists. Additionally, you can check out a new gameplay trailer above dubbed Rattlesnake Springs.

Along with a bevvy of new maps, the forthcoming sequel will also introduce a new first to the series: drop in/drop out play for up to four players in both local and online play. Obviously, sequels are a great way to improve on a previously successful recipe and The Escapists 2 is no different as Mouldy Toof revamped the game’s combat by adding a new new lock-on targeting system along with the ability to block and perform light and heavy attacks. For those who enjoy playing dress up with their characters, the developer also added a handful of new customization options; you can now make your character bald!

As with its predecessor, trying to escape won’t be a cake walk. Players will need to work around the strict schedule and obviously avoid getting spotted by the guards. To escape, gamers will need a handful of helpful tools (such as a handy new taser); all of which can either be found, crafted, or even stolen. Beware of cell shakedowns. If players are caught with contraband, they are sent to solitary. Items can be hidden in your toilet or an empty desk; unfortunately, this won’t guarantee you’ll still have them if you’re chosen for a shakedown.

Need a few vital supplies while you scout for the ideal escape route? You can either get a job in prison or perform favors in order to obtain the necessary items to help to your escape.

The Escapists 2 will sneak to PC, PS4, Switch and Xbox One sometime this year.
