Watch: A Goblin On The Loose In Styx: Shards of Darkness Launch Trailer

The witty assassin and father of the goblin race is back. Styx: Shards of Darkness is coming to PC, PS4, and Xbox One this March 14th and features a whole new adventure for the Of Orcs And Man beloved character. We’ve already seen some of the co-op multiplayer in the game, but now Cyanide Studio prepares the title’s launch with some clues about the story behind this adventure.

This time, Styx is given what seems like another criminal task: steal an ambassador’s  scepter. Obscured by his need of amber, an addiction he has to the source of his magic, makes him overlook the big picture of his mission, ignoring that there’s more to this scepter’s power. He’s not the only one on the search for it, and it seems dark elves and dwarves joined forces for their mutual interests…

Even if knee-deep in trouble, Styx’s a relentless assassin with a wide selection of skills, ready to cross any obstacle presented. We’ve seen his might in Styx: Master of Shadows, and this mad goblin hasn’t lost his touch. Whether you climb and hide through Thorbe, the City of Thieves, or you assassinate everyone on your path in the dark Elven City of Korangar, you’ll have what it takes to make it out alive.

Clone yourself to distract guards, channel your magic and make yourself invisible, or simply use the environment to your favor while you stab some folk to the ground. It looks like the title focuses on non-linear missions, with similarities to Assassin’s Creed, but Styx thinks otherwise. His direct joke referencing Ubisoft’s series on the trailer makes us hope Cyanide Studio’s bringing fresh moves to the table with their comeback-packed goblin, avoiding some of the mistakes made by other assassin franchises.
