Getting Your Snap Spectacles Just Became Easier

Snap Spectacles

If you missed out on catching any of the Snapbot vending machines that popped up in surprise locations for the past three months you are in luck! Snap has begun selling its 10 to 30 second video recording sunglasses online in the U.S. at Spectacles.com.

Buyers of the sunglasses should expect two to four weeks for shipment, with a limited of 6 pairs per household. In addition, you can also purchase $49.99 charging cases and $9.99 charging cords from Snap, rather than Amazon, which is how you previously had to find it.

The availability of the spectacles online coincides with the upcoming IPO in which Snap hopes to convince investors that it can generate money from the product, rather than just be a silly promotional stunt. Although the spectacles have had a relatively positive response since their release last November, it was seen as little more than just a fun product for those hardcore Snap fans.

With the ability for more people to get their hands on them, Snap could see that there is a nice market for a product developed and marketed directly to the fans of the app, rather than trying to sell it to the tech-savy users who may take some of the “cool” vibe away from it. Driving more users to the platform and giving new ways to capture videos, even if the spectacles aren’t a massive hit, still benefits the company in the long run. Creative ways to capture video and for people to view snaps will provide longevity for the company.

Do you already have a pair? Are you planning on “snapping” these up as soon as you can? Let us know your experiences with them below. The spectacles are now available for $129.99 on Spectacles.com.
