HyperX, Kingston’s dedicated video game brand, has announced their partnership with Microsoft; out of which comes a new headset designed specifically for Xbox One.
The CloudX hence represents the company’s first attempt at entering the gaming console market, with a launch window set for a late Q2 this year.
We previously reviewed the HyperX Cloud as one of the most comfortable headsets we’d ever worn.
Connected via a wire through a classic 3.5mm jack straight into the One’s controller, the CloudX buds deliver ‘every gunshot, explosion and dialogue in crystal-clear sound via large 53mm drivers,” the company says.
Its over-the ear design, which takes inspiration from the award-winning HyperX Cloud II, makes sure that the two closed-cup, memory foam ear cushions will let you feel comfortable even in prolonged sessions, as does the soft leather headband with its custom stitching.
In addition to that, ambient noise stays blocked out for a truly immersive gaming experience, while the detachable microphone lets you replace the headset securely into its hard-shell carrying case whenever not in use or while travelling.
The CloudX also features convenient in-line volume controls.
“We are proud to work with Microsoft on its Xbox One gaming platform and bring our headset expertise to the console world,” said Anders Willumsen, general manager, HyperX Division.
“We have always known we would enter the gaming console market since releasing our first headset for PC gamers almost two years ago. There are natural synergies between our two companies as HyperX has a strong PC presence and the Xbox One console provides deeper integration with PC gaming via the Xbox App on Windows 10.”
The product will be on display from January 6-8 during the company’s meetings at Las Vegas’ Caesar’s Palace.
