This past February, Nintendo released its brand new Nintendo 3DS XL to the North American market; Japan had their hands on the normal Nintendo 3DS and the XL version since October of 2014. With this new system came mixed feelings as it would replace the current Nintendo 3DS in the market and it also did not come with a charger, which became a problem for those new to the Nintendo system. And now, after many months of waiting, the normal size version of the new Nintendo 3DS will be on shelves September 25th as a bundle.
Customers who purchase this new bundle for $220 USD will receive the handheld with a digital copy of Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer, two interchangeable faceplates for your new handheld system, and an amiibo card, which allows a familiar animal friend to join your gameplay session in Animal Crossing.
The new Nintendo 3DS has a top screen size of 3.53 inches, which is considerably smaller than the Nintendo 3DS XL which measures 4.88 inches. The Nintendo 3DS can of course play games in 3D or in 2D, whichever is your preference. It includes a back and a front camera, Wi-Fi capability and options to play with your friends across the globe.
For anyone who is unfamiliar with the Animal Crossing series, you play as a human surrounded by adorable, furry neighbors. It is a simulation game that will have you spending hours trying to make friends and build up your house to something that is somewhat livable (while giving Tom Nook all of your life savings). Now for those who are familiar with the series, you will surely remember the Happy Room Academy, the faceless representatives of an organization that critiques your interior designing skills. You’ll be seeing them again in Happy Home Designers
In Animal Crossing: Happy Room Designer, you will become one of those representatives at the Happy Room Academy and help your fellow villagers create a room of their dreams. Help them pick the plot of land to live on (a feature brought back from Animal Crossing: New Leaf) and design the exterior and interior of their homes. The design choices are up to you.
