So, how does Ubisoft open up their E3 2014 press conference? By giving us a gripping, narrative-filled trailer containing the first 5 minutes of what players can expect to see once starting the main campaign mode in Far Cry 4. The key feature: you get to meet your antagonist up close and personal.
Set in the Himalayas, your character is on a bus trying to bypass military units without being discovered. That is until they realize what you’re doing and actually discover you. Bullets break out and almost everyone around you is pretty much dead. That is until you meet your undercut, silver-haired villain, who enters the scene stabbing away at one of his subordinates because not following his directions heavily messes with him.
Then, he recognizes you, welcomes you with open arms and a selfie and proceeds to have you follow him back into his chopper. There’s a party waiting for you, he says.
Ubisoft starting off their presser with this game has to be one of the better E3 openings that we’ve seen so far. Far Cry 4 is set to release November 18.
While pre-ordering the game may get you some sweet bonuses such as extra story missions and a harpoon gun, the trailer below is pretty much worth watching over and over. At least until the game drops. You should try it. Start with the official E3 trailer below.
