Lara Croft Receives a Facelift for Next Gen

A lot of talk has been going around about the new Tomb Raider reboot. Though, some gamers may think meteoritic as the devil virtualized, it does grant Tomb Raider an 87/100. And Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics seem to think that the gameplay will hold up well compared to the launch titles available currently on the systems; however, the graphics are getting a makeover in the transition to next gen.

Tomb Raider for Xbox One and PS4 will feature higher resolution everything, more effects, more detail, and a completely new Lara face model. Yes, as if the reboot of Lara didn’t look vulnerable enough, Crystal Dynamics managed to one-up themselves by making Lara look even more realistic.

Have a look for yourself:

I believe the game will hold up well on next generation consoles, but this is still a port. The engine has been optimized to take advantage of the extra power of the PS4 and XBO, but it won’t be the best-looking game on either system. But that’s also not the point. This game serves as a second chance for those who haven’t gotten the opportunity to play the critically acclaimed game on last generation — those like me.

How do you feel about Tomb Raider? Do you think this will be a successful transition? Will you be buying the title? More than ever, I find that it’s hard to avoid this game. I may have to drop the cash to discover first hand what this tomb is all about.
