Release Date Set for Deus Ex: Human Revolution – Director's Cut

Square Enix and Eidos Montreal have officially set an October 22 release date for Deus Ex: Human Revolution – Director’s Cut. Arriving more than two years after the title’s original launch, the studios are calling Director’s Cut the “definitive version” of the acclaimed cyberpunk RPG and have promised players a healthy amount of enhancements and new content. The game will initially ship for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U, and PC, with a Mac version coming “in the near future.”

Director’s Cut integrates the entire Missing Link chapter from last year’s Ultimate Edition and offers more than eight hours of developer commentary. Other additions include overhauled boss fights, updated AI, and graphical improvements. The developers have even gone as far as to implement second-screen gameplay that utilizes Microsoft’s SmartGlass, the Wii U Gamepad, and PlayStation Vita.

Those who purchase console copies of Director’s Cut will be eligible for a free copy of a new Deus Ex novella by James Swallow, Deus Ex: Fallen Angel. Swallow, a UK-based author primarily known for tie-in work to series like Star Trek and Warhammer 40,000, penned another Deus Ex novel called Icarus Effect in 2011.
