Refocused PVP and Greater Focus On Community
Destiny 2 prides itself in having a little bit of everything for every type of player. For the solo fans there is the cinematic campaign. For the fireteam squads, strikes and raids inspire cooperation and coordination. For those looking to battle it out Guardian vs Guardian, Destiny 2 is making changes to cater towards a true competitive experience. The Crucible is now exclusively 4v4 matches making games more slow paced, but adding a massive element of strategy and tactics. Their new mode Countdown exemplifies this the best. Reminiscent of Call of Duty’s Search & Destroy, you either eliminate the enemy team or successfully plant a charge. Add super abilities into the mix and you’ve got multiplayer that truly stands out from other titles.
The addition of clan support & guided games looks to make this process even more seamless. There are now in-game tools to build your clans and support to meet and recruit new players. Want to do a Raid but can’t get six people together? See if any clans are hosting a guided game and join with them. Maybe you’ll make new friends and join them. It is through this focus on community outreach that Bungie hopes to make sure that every mode will have full squads to experience the breadth of Destiny 2’s content.
