2K to bring X-COM back as a first person shooter

Do you remember playing XCOM back in the 90’s, I was nine years old when the first one was released out of the four games released from 93-98.

From what I heard from others that have played it, is that the first game was undeniably the most popular and most successful of the series and voted one of the best video games of all time by many gaming magazines and websites.

So it looks like 2K Marin (Masters of BioShock 2), is going give a new twist on aging computer game series but bringing to the console generation. They already gave us a great story in Bioshock, so it will be interesting to see what they re-create with this turn-based strategy.

Playing as a FBI agent this go around in the series “tasked with identifying and eliminating the growing threat”.

“With BioShock 2, the team at 2K Marin proved themselves as masters of first-person, suspenseful storytelling, and with XCOM they will re-imagine and expand the rich lore of this revered franchise,”

said Christoph Hartmann, president of 2K.

“Players will explore the world of XCOM from an immersive new perspective and experience firsthand the fear and tension of this gripping narrative ride.”
