2K Sports Unveils NBA®2K12 Soundtrack

2K Sports announced today the complete soundtrack for its upcoming NBA 2K12, the latest installment in the top-rated and best-selling NBA basketball simulation franchise.

This year’s cross-genre soundtrack highlights both popular megastars and up-and-coming bands, with music from Eminem & Royce Da 5’9”, Travis Barker, Busta Rhymes, Lil Jon, Twista, Cee-Lo, Q-Tip and more.

When it comes to music fitting into a game 2K hits it right on the head.

Having played a lot of games from 2K before, their music was never an issue with every release and they are the only company that actually give thought to the music featured in game. Sure you have games that have good music but then you’re playing for a while and some random song starts, leaving you dumbfounded at why the development team would choose it. Nothing sucks more then being in the zone while playing a game and some ridiculous pop song starts playing.

Even 2K’s Jason Argent vice president of marketing for 2K sports knows how important music is in a game, he had this to say below.

“Music has always been an integral part of our NBA 2Kvideo games, as it further immerses players into the world of basketball and enhances their gaming experience. It was important to us that the NBA 2K12 soundtrack was not only what you hear while navigating the menus, but also in real-life situations like pre-game highlight introductions and during timeouts, just as you would hear a song while at a game or watching on TV.”

I mean, seriously. Look at the track listing below.

You got Busta Rhymes and Eminem, then you got Twista. This will be a game you play just to hear the music in it.

Enough said!
