2011 Randy Pausch & Mark Beaumont Scholarship Funds

On April 6, 2011, The Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences’ AIAS Foundation, announced that submissions for their Randy Pausch Scholarship and Mark Beaumont Scholarship are now open.

The Randy Pausch Scholarship was established to honor the memory of Computer Science Professor and Co-Founder of the Entertainment Technology Center at Carnegie Mellon University, Dr. Randy Pausch. This scholarship was made to help students who are pursuing careers in the development art, animation, programming, engineering, game direction, game design, sound design, and music composition.

The Mark Beaumont Scholarship was established to honor the memory of the previous COO of Capcom North America and Europe, Mark Beaumont. This scholarship was made to help students who are pursuing careers in the business of executive leadership, law, marketing, public relations, and business development.

Both of these scholarships award two $2,500 scholarships. “The AIAS Foundation is pleased to continue supporting students who are pursuing a degree and career in interactive entertainment,” said Martin Rae, president, Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences. “Randy Pausch and Mark Beaumont made a huge mark in their respective fields, and we hope our scholarship recipients will do the same one day.”

To qualify for these scholarships, you must have a GPA of at least 3.3, be a full-time student at an accredited college or university in the United States during the 2011-2012 school year. The deadline to apply for scholarships is June 30, 2011. For more information about the scholarships and qualifications, as well as applications, can be found on the AIAS Foundation Website.
