Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment have recently announced the action-adventure title Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters which shall be available in conjunction with Warner Bros. Pictures’ epic superhero feature film Green Lantern which has been scheduled for release in Summer 2011. The game will be available for XBOX 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system, Wii™ and Nintendo DS™.
The game shall deliver quite a beautiful experience for the Green Lantern fans which can be enjoyed by the entire family. The game Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters is actually inspired by the feature film, and this brings one of the most popular DC Comics superhero to the big screen for the first time. This stars Ryan Reynolds in the title role of Hal Jordon, who is actually the “greenest” or the freshest member of the Green Lantern Corps.
In the Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters video game, the players will be able to utilize over a dozen of constructs and take flight across the deepest parts of the Universe with the aim of restoring intergalactic order by the wielding of the ultimate weapon: the Green Lantern power ring.
The game has been made in such a way that the players shall be entitled with the ability to experience and understand the world of the Green Lantern mythology in an interactive way, and the game actually goes beyond the events and the episodes revealed in the film and the comic books. This is what has been revealed by Samantha Ryan who is the Senior Vice President of Productions and Development of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.
Ryan has also suggested that the Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters game is the first video game which is focusing around DC Comics’ Green Lantern franchise and that they are rather excited to be able to give the fans the opportunity of experiencing the power of the ring with the engaging gameplay. The Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters video game is being developed for XBOX 360 PlayStation 3 and Wii by Double Helix Games, and that for Nintendo DS by Griptonite Games.
