New Xbox One Features Coming to PC with Windows 10 Launch

Windows 10 and Xbox One

With the launch of Windows 10 on July 29th, Microsoft is taking some time to outline its integration with Xbox One.

We’ve known for a while that Microsoft would be rolling out some cool integration with Windows 10 and Xbox One but now we’re getting some more details.

The main feature is game streaming. From launch you will be able to stream Xbox One games from the console to any Windows 10 PC or laptop. Now you won’t have to take up the main TV and the ability to do this on a laptop makes the Xbox One somewhat portable – or at least easier to move around the house.

The other main feature is the Xbox App on Windows 10 that will allow for a number of features. The app will let you to access the Xbox Live community and features on your PC such as: party chat, the ability to see all of your games (Xbox or PC) in one place, and Avatar customization. You can also share gameplay clips from the PC and take custom pictures of your avatar to make into your gamerpic.

A lot of this was already known but is either coming out of beta or is confirmed to be launching with Windows 10. And things like party chat are great additions that I’m sure many people will be using a lot. Making the two platforms friendlier with each other is a super smart play to turn PCs (already synonymous with gaming) into a clearer member of the Xbox family.
