Lenovo and Razer pave way for future gaming PC Collaboration With the Ideacenter Y900 RE (Razer Edition) | CES 2016

Last November, Chinese manufacturer Lenovo and the gaming-focused company Razer announced their collaboration to work on a lineup of PC gaming builds, and their first product is now on show at CES.

The Ideacenter Y900 RE (Razer Edition) is essentially a mixture of a standard Y900 with the addition of Razer’s Chroma Full Spectrum lighting system, with multi-coloured lights coming from underneath the case as well as the vents toward the rear.

And that’s not all; the lighting show goes on with the bundled Blackwidow Chroma keyboard and Mamba Chroma mouse, both picked from Razer’s catalogue as well as Lenovo’s own Y27g curved gaming monitor, purchased separately, which also received a $600 Razer makeover.

The machine boasts a 6th Gen Intel Core i7 CPU, up to 32GB of DDR4 RAM and decent NVIDIA graphics, for a starting price of $2299.

As mentioned, Lenovo and Razer’s Y900 RE is just the first in a series of combined efforts that will see the two houses working on gaming machines, where former’s computers will see the addition of Razer’s own Comms, Synapse and Cortex among others.

The two companies’ expertise will undoubtedly bring some exciting products over the course of 2016 and beyond, but for now the Y900 RE – which is due this June – will keep everyone’s eyeballs glued at the CES 2016 show floor.
