Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2 Punches Its Way To Stores Next Month

Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2

Aksys Games has confirmed that Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2, an upgrade to 2014’s Guilty Gear Xrd, is coming to PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 on May 26.

The game will be available at retail for PS4 as a stand-alone release or a digital upgrade on PSN. The disc version will run $39.99 while the digital upgrade will cost $19.99. If you can’t wait until May 26, you can enjoy the opening video above.

Rev 2 is an upgraded version of Guilty Gear Xrd. This upgrade brings new characters, Baiken and Answer, into the game. It also adds new moves, re-balanced characters, new stages and an improved online functionality according to a press release.

Developer Arc System Works also added a handful of free epilogue chapters. Dubbed “Subsequent stories,” these will be available for all characters, except for Sol, as a free upgrade.

Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2 is the ideal fighting title for newcomers to the genre thanks to its critically acclaimed Stylish Type control system. This user friendly system was first introduced in the BlazBlue fighting series and allows newcomers to pull off special attacks simply by button mashing; thus eliminating the need to memorize attacks.

The original Guilty Gear Xrd was received positively in 2014, scoring an 84 on Metacritic.
