De Blob trailer released

For those of you who missed out, De Blob was a fairly unique platformer for the Wii that had users controlling a colored blob tasked with painting a world overcome by grey, blubbery baddies. The title featured some interesting platforming mechanics, charming visuals and a quirky sense of humor that added to its overall appeal.

Recently, THQ released a trailer giving us a glimpse of what to expect in De Blob 2. The video features a miserly grey blob struck with a moment of fun upon discovering the wonders of sliding on ice. After a sparkling figure skating fantasy, the world gets a bit of color. The trailer doesn’t really tell us anything about the gameplay, but it does provide a nice perspective on the humor and artistic style of the title.

De Blob 2 is expected to release on February 22nd, and Blue Tongue and THQ are working to expand the franchise’s reach by bringing it to the Wii, DS, Xbox 360 and PS3.
