Was Arkham Knight's Identity Revealed? [Spoilers]

Batman: Arkham Knight drummed up a lot of hype and anticipation after its E3 game play demo. There were a lot of information and important reveals throughout that kept people on the edge of their seat. But perhaps the biggest reveal came not in an official capacity but in a probable slip of the tongue.

The Arkham Knight

In an interview with 4player Network, a Rocksteady lead animator may have let slip the appearance of Nightwing in Arkham Knight. At about the four minute mark, he started to discuss the characters they’ve talked about that will be in the game and mentions Nightwing after Scarecrow. What is interesting however was the entire sentence:

“Like we’ve mentioned already, we’ve got Scarecrow, Nightwing…liasing together to try take down the Bats,”

Scarecrow and Nightwing liasing together? That sounds more like Jason Todd’s Red Hood than Nightwing. [SPOILERS] In the Arkham continuity though, Jason Todd was killed by The Joker before the events of Arkham Asylum.

Not the Arkham Knight

So, it’s entirely possible the animator meant to say the Arkham Knight but accidentally spilled the beans on Nightwing.

‘Knight’ and ‘night’ are homophones anyway so it’s unlikely that Nightwing is the gun totting Batman clone. His split second reaction to his slip-up says volumes about the fan favorite character’s chances of being in the game though.

As for the Arkham Knight, I’m putting my money on a resurrected Jason Todd.

Check out the video interview below to learn more about the bat mobile and the Riddler or skip to the 4:08 mark to hear the part about Nightwing and determine for yourself what it means:
