Alien: Isolation's Season Pass and Survival Mode Trailer Surface from the Dark

This morning, SEGA and Creative Assembly have revealed heaps of details on Alien: Isolation’s Season Pass and the all new terrifyingly intricate Survivor Mode.

Survivor Mode attempts to pit players against the Xenomorph as they are tasked with completing specific objectives with very few resources at hand. Can you get through the Hospital without using your motion tracker? What about creeping through Engineering without using your gun? Ultimately, Survival Mode creates an even deeper immersive experience as players will begin to find themselves tackling some of the game’s most difficult challenges yet. Between racing against the clock and restricting the use of certain key items, successful runs will reward players with a variety of points which will eventually transfer to the game’s global leaderboards. Friendly competition is at hand here.

When the game launches, “Basement” will be the only available Survivor Mode map to play. If you opt to purchase Alien Isolation’s Season Pass however, the first of five Survivor Mode add-ons will roll out starting just three weeks after release on October 28th. Each of these five add-ons promises to include three new maps with a new playable character. New challenges and new enemy types also await players in these add-ons.

For those who are highly intrigued by Survivor Mode, the Season Pass is a great purchase as it offers a 25% discount as opposed to purchasing the add-ons separately. Publisher SEGA has yet to reveal a price on the game’s Season Pass but has stated that all of Alien: Isolation’s DLC will be released no later than March 2015. This effectively means that players will get access to a new DLC pack each month after the initial add-on rolls out.

Alien: Isolation will hit shelves worldwide October 7th on Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PC. If you manage to snag a pre-order of the game, you will receive a free upgrade to the Nostromo Edition, which grants players immediate access to the Crew Expendable DLC.
