First Set Photos of Alicia Vikander’s Lara Croft in Tomb Raider Reboot Look Promising

We now have our very good first look of actress Alicia Vikander in full costume as heroine Lara Croft for the new Tomb Raider film.

By way of The Daily Mail, we’ve got some awesome behind-the-scenes set photos of Alicia performing some of her own stunt work for the upcoming Tomb Raider film franchise reboot. Looking very much like the video game icon sprung back to life, we see her hanging off ledges and getting her hands dirty. Clearing having seen some action, Alicia’s Lara already looks like she’s seen some battle as she’s already sporting some bandages as well as some dirt, grime and cuts.

Also pay special attention to the outfit, which gives a nod to the latest iteration of the game franchise as the last two installments stood as a reboot to the video game franchise itself. The film, much like the recent 2013 video game reboot, centers around a much younger Lara Croft following her father’s footsteps while adventuring on her first archaeological discovery. As apparent by these set pictures, the new movie seems to be largely based, at least visually, from the more recent titles.

Alicia even states as such in an interview with hitflixx, saying “ they told me they were doing the film based on the reboot of the game from 2013; That is more of an origin story. You get an emotional aspect og getting to know Lara hopefully in an in-depth way. So I hope doing a film of the rebooted game will bring something new and fresh that’ll stand on it’s own two legs.”
