Yars' Revenge Remake, Screenshots + Trailer

Atari revealed today that they are working on an “Anime re-imagining” of the Atari classic Yars’ Revenge, which will bring the game to new artistic heights along with a captivating narrative that expands upon the original story. The game is available now on the Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network, and PC. Fans may be in for a real treat.

Players take control of the game’s lead protagonist, a nameless Yar, who is brainwashed by the evil Qotile empire to follow out their every command. After being rescued by the mysterious Bar Yargler, she sets off on a mission to seek revenge on her former master and his squad of deadly assassins.

As you embark on your mission, the on-rails shooter will guide you through exhilarating Miyazaki-inspired landscapes as you fly through the Yar Village to the bio-technological nightmare of the Qotile empire. The game will feature a variety of RPG elements which will allow you gain experience and upgrade your armor and abilities. Another feature that many will enjoy is the drop-in/drop-out co-op feature which will allow you to play with your friends at any time during gameplay. The game will also feature a variety of unlocks such as the original comic book and challenge modes which will test your skills.
