What We Played During Week 14

Welcome to Press Start (What We Played)! This is a weekly segment that dives into what we here at The Game Fanatics have played during this past week. What did you game?

Michelle: I find my life infiltrated with a lot of new devices now and it’s pathetic how my nights are spent not talking to my husband because we’re both switching between our iPhones, an iPod Mini that we got for free, my MacBook Pro (finally installed Steam) and the Razer Edge that the mister got from his work. What I love about the Edge is that because it’s Windows 8, I can play Xbox games on it and get achievements while I’m tailgating. Currently playing Adera, Wordament, Fruit Ninja, Jetpack Joyride, Cut the Rope, Minesweeper, Monsters Love Candy, and Pinball FX2. On my phone is Ruzzle, Words with Friends, Temple Run 2, They Must Be Fed, Pinball HD Collection, CKZ Origins and Hunger Games. I’ll get back into Hip Hop Dance Experience when I’m not too lazy to move the coffee table, but that game kind of trumps Dance Central IMO.

Jeff: Mega Man 2 is amazing. For all the supposed 8-bit classics that have come and gone, this one can stand with the best. I’ve also been playing the 2010 Medal of Honor reboot. I can’t think of many nice things to say so far.

Darrin: Still replaying Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, and I picked up Sonic Rush for iOS… A fun and functional “endless runner” game.

Enis: This week all I really have done was play Halo 4. Capture The Flag. Over and over and over again. That is all.

Arnell: I beat Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon for the 3DS. It was very enjoyable all around. There were a couple negatives for me like the mission-to-mission stop and go pacing. I’d rather it was just all continuous like the original. Regardless, it’s full of charm all around with solid controls and I highly recommend it especially if you really liked Luigi’s Mansion on the Gamecube.

8 Bit Brit: I’ve been playing Happy Wars.

Jen: Only had time for two games this week. The first one was the usual Star Wars the Old Republic, which had another double exp weekend. Trying to get my last Republic side player to level 50. I just got her to level 40 and my Sith sorcerer just hit 30. The second game was Bioshock Infinite and I managed to finish it before going back to work on Sunday. Amazing. No spoilers, but I’m really glad that I picked it up.

Greg: Bioshock: Infinite. One of the best written games I’ve every played. Story on par with my favorite comics. If you told me Jonathan Hickman helped write it, I’d believe it. Great game, great story, amazing presentation. Really loved it.

Ben: Bioshock Infinite. All day every day. Really enjoyed the skyhook fighting, the vigors, collecting upgrades, pretty much everything. plus it has an ending that is amazingtasticful. It’s not a perfect game but it is so damn fun that I will be playing through it a few more times, just cause.

Jake: BioShock Infinite earlier in the week, HarmoKnight later in the week. Oh, and Game of Thrones is back!!!!
