VR Missions Coming to PS3 Version of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance

Metal Gear Solid fans gaming on Playstation 3 will be happy to know that Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance will offer 30 downloadable VR missions exclusively for Sony‘s console. The announcement came two weeks away from the game’s release on PS3 and Xbox 360.

Inspired by 1998’s Metal Gear Solid, the VR mode is designed to create a virtual reality-like environment, or training simulation program, for the series’s protagonist, but this time players will be controlling Raiden instead of Solid Snake.

The 30 missions will test all facets of Raiden’s abilities, providing advanced training, maneuvering challenges, and stealth combat missions among others.

Fans will also have the chance to play at least some of the missions as Dwarf Gekko, a powerful weapon used by Liquid Ocelot. No other playable characters have been announced, but you can take a look at some of the upcoming missions in all of their yellowy glory here.

Destroying a tank is often an uphill battle.

After more than four years removed from Guns of the Patriots, we’re now just two weeks away from Metal Gear Rising Revengeance. Not long ago, Konami released a demo to give players a sense of Raiden’s acrobatics and blade-wielding skills. If you’re curious to know how it plays, check out our Revengeance demo impressions.
