VGU Gamer Gauntlet Combines eSports and Cruises

HiRez Studios has announced that they will be attending the Gamer Gauntlet. If you’re not familiar with the Gamer Gauntlet, it’s the first cruise to feature gaming as the main entertainment. VGU Enterprises is hosting the cruise on Royal Caribbean’s Majesty of the Sea. The Cruise will leave Orlando’s Port Canaveral on April 7th, 2017, traveling to the Bahamas and returning on April 10th.

HiRez says that they will be hosting Smite and Paladins matches on the cruise. The Studio also has other event plans that will make Smite fans happy. However, they just aren’t ready to announce them right now. The studio asks you to stay tuned to their blog post on the event, as they will announce their plans close soon.

Smite and Paladins aren’t the only games you have to look for on the Gamer Gauntlet. Some other games that will be in attendance include Call of Duty, Dota 2, League of Legends, and Smash Bros. Halo and Madden may also be in attendance, but we won’t know until we get closer to the event. We still have another 6 months until the cruise, so more games may be announced.

The Cruise will also feature game specific rooms, like the Call of Duty immersion room, which will put you in a war zone with a ceiling to floor screen. Another game specific room on the cruise is the Forza race room, a room that will feature 10 racers going head to head. If those rooms to seem like your cup of tea, maybe the Metronomicon will float your boat. The Metronomicon sees you take control a party of eight to wage musical warfare against a multitude of dance-mongering fiends.

If gaming is not your thing, the Gamer Gauntlet will also feature a variety of musical entertainment. DJ Two4our, Mega Ran, and DJ Dowager will all be in attendance and turning up. So we have good games, great music, and The Game Fanatics as a sponsor, what else could you want? You can book your room now on VGU Gamer Gauntlet‘s website. If you want 10% off you can use coupon code HIREZ17.
