Uncharted 4 Gets a Co-Op Mode with Survival

Uncharted 4

The latest addition to Uncharted 4 multiplayer is the arrival of Survival, the new cooperative and solo mode. Similar to the Co-Op Arena from previous Uncharted games, it will arrive by mid-December.

If you have been playing Uncharted 4 multiplayer regularly, you may have been glancing over their roadmap quite a bunch of times. Asking yourself when was the Co-Op mode finally happening. If you have, rejoice, for your days of wait are over! Naughty Dog has just announced today that they are bringing a Survival mode and they have done so with a juicy trailer. It will make its public hands-on debut at PlayStation Experience next week and release for the rest of the world in mid-December.

Uncharted 4 New Co-Op in a Nutshell

You may want to think of Survival as your typical “horde” mode from other action titles. As described by the folks of Naughty Dog, the new Co-Op for up to 3 players is a “is all about strategy, camaraderie, and skill” and it does live up to its name. Across 50 waves and 10 maps, we’ll be faced with everything the universe of Uncharted 4 has to offer: shoreline mercenaries, heavily armored brutes, hunters… Each of those waves getting harder and deadlier as the time keeps on moving and also featuring a boss fight for every 10 waves that we culminate.

Naughty Dog proposes with Survival something more than simple “merry killing”. In order to reach wave 50 we’ll also need to clear some concrete objectives and be aware of particular modifiers that may affect our strategy at a given point. The more we complete these objectives and clear the screen from enemies, the more in-game cash we’ll win, which we’ll need to unlock more weapons and equipment scattered throughout the maps. On top of it all, there is a progression system, Relic Challenges, and unique vanity items only obtainable in this mode.

The ultimate ordeal from this future update? Completing Survival on Hard and therefore unlocking the so-called Crushing Mode. It does get exactly as the name suggests…

And you, Fanatics? What’s your opinion on Uncharted 4 multiplayer? Are you still playing it and will you be getting Survival before the year is over? Let us know in the comment section down below!
