UK Weekly Sales Roundup: FIFA 12 Dominates

Despite it’s more than impressive first week figures, It seems Gears of War 3 couldn’t hold on to the top of the UK charts. FIFA 12 has always been a strong contender in the UK and throughout Europe, often dominating the charts for quite a while but for it to de-thrown Gears of War in it’s second week is a whole new kind of impressive.

Despite loosing out to FIFA, Gears managed to hold of F1 2011, another strong contender for this week How long Gears of War 3 can stay in the top rankings will be interesting though, with the onslaught of AAA titles coming out this month it could be a difficult fight.

Aside from the battle for Number 1, the chart also shows some interesting places. Zumba Fitness managed to outsell Deus Ex: Human revolution and Dead Island, both games which were well received and achieved some impressive sales. Further down X-Men Destiny makes a dissapointing entrance to the chart, being outsold by the likes of World Rugby Challenge 2011 and the now year old Call of Duty: Black Ops.

With Dark Souls coming out on Tuesday, next weeks chart could be an interesting one to watch. Check back here at TGF for a weekly look at the UK charts!
