Top 5 Game’s We’re Most Excited for in 2020

Cyberpunk 2077 Car

We are about halfway through 2020 and we have seen some amazing releases so far this year. Final Fantasy VII: Remake, The Last of Us Part II, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and Persona 5 Royal just to name a few, but there are still so many amazing games coming and we can’t wait to get my hands on them. Here are the games we are most excited about playing during the back half of 2020.

Cyberpunk 2077

CD Project Red has done an incredible job with the Witcher series. The Witcher 3 remains one of our favorite open-world RPG’s and Cyberpunk 2077 looks to continue that success. The Keanu Reeves reveal at E3 last year will be remembered for years to come and each time a trailer drops we have to pick our jaws up off the floor.

Game previews behind closed doors have been met with wide acclaim and the release of the gameplay footage last year was one of the top gameplay reveals. With the attention to detail the devs at CD Project Red give to their games, expectations are very high and many are confident it will not disappoint.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla takes us into the Viking era and we couldn’t be more excited. After the series began to grow stale for many, Assassin’s Creed Origins brought players back in and Odyssey was absolutely incredible. The trailer for Valhalla looks impressive many of us are looking forward to seeing some true gameplay as you can assume Ubisoft will be taking the RPG elements in the AC series to a new level.

Halo Infinite

Halo Infinite takes the reign as the premiere (Queue Microsoft E3 Voice) Exclusive for the Xbox Series X. 343 Studios has a great opportunity here to get fans back on board with a great story after Halo 5 received some harsh criticism around its story. Halo has always been a big part of gaming history and it would be great to see it back on top.

Halo also has a big place in the multiplayer and competitive landscape so this is a big opportunity for Microsoft to take over Twitch with streamers from all over playing and competing in Halo Infinite at the same time their new big console is dropping. If Halo Infinite hits the mark, this would be a huge win for them.

Godfall

It is always great when a game takes things that are super familiar, ie loot-based multiplayer mechanics, and then adds something unique. In this case, it looks like this is a melee-based loot-driven RPG that can be played co-op or solo. We don’t have a ton of information on this one yet, but the trailers have me excited. It looks great, and we can definitely see groups of friends having fun with this one.

Spider-Man: Miles Morales

If there was one game that really caught people’s eye during Sony’s PS5 reveal it was Spider-Man: Miles Morales. It was also one of the few games shown that seemed to have a release window for this year. The game looked stunning, and the original Spider-Man on the PS4 was a hit. This will certainly be a great reason to own a PS5 and we can’t wait to see more gameplay in the coming months.

There are a lot more gaming events between now and the end of the year. We are sure that this list will grow by then. What games are you most excited for? Let us know and stay tuned to The Game Fanatics.
