Remember when fans were skeptical about Man of Steel composer Hans Zimmer’s ability to create a score worthy of following John William’s seminal original? If the new theatrical Man of Steel trailer hasn’t convinced you, maybe this fan edit, done by Youtuber and Superman fanatic ollyh82, will. Setting this cut apart from the rest, Olly put together clips from the first two Superman films and smartly arranged them with the new score. The result is a fan trailer that is refreshing, fun, and most importantly, unique. You can check it out below.
Try not to get chills when Zod steps into play. It can’t be done. In fact, the whole thing gave me chills as a fan of not only the Donner originals, but Superman as a whole. It’s quite the treat to see and hear Christopher Reeve, Marlon Brando, Gene Hackman and Terrence Stamp in this modern mash-up.
Olly also joined our latest guest on the Movie Fanatics podcast, Captain Logan of Geekvolution, on commentaries of several Superman films. Also, check out our list of Five Things A Superman Game Needs. If you haven’t seen it, click here for the latest Man of Steel trailer.
Man of Steel hits theaters June 14. I, for one, absolutely cannot wait.
