Shaquille O'Neal Working To Bring Back Shaq Fu Franchise

For all the basketball fans out there, this is the article for you. The infamous Shaquille O’Neal, who is now a retired basketball player, wants to revive the franchise Shaq Fu with a sequel. You might find that a bit random, until you realize that Mr O’Neal actually starred in the game, which may be the reason he’s so interested in bringing it back.

Of course, you’re probably wondering, how is he even going to do that? He doesn’t make video games, he breaks backboards. However, Mr O’Neal is asking for the public’s help, in the form of backers. That’s right, donate $500 to the cause and Mr O’Neal will actually follow you on Instagram, which sounds pretty cool to me. I mean, if you’re a basketball fan, it’s a pretty sweet deal. You donate $500 Mr O’Neal will follow you on Instagram and bring back a cool franchise. Hey, donate some more and the deal gets even sweeter. Donate $600 and he’ll follow you on Twitter. $750 and he’ll send you a personalized video message. Upping the stakes, $15,000 and you get to play ball with the man at his house. $25,000 and you dine with him in Atlanta with 6 of your friends. But the ultimate prize is if you donate $35,000, where you get to take two of your best buds to TNT Studios, have a meet and greet with people and then sit down for lunch with the man himself.

You may not even be interested in the game in this point, you might just be thinking of these delicious prizes. But for those of you who don’t know, here’s the backstory: In 1994, this game was released into the world, competing with the likes of Tekken and, a year later, Street Fighter. In fact, the revival of this series if going to be made of a studio comprised of seasoned veterans from the Street Fighter and Halo series. The studio making the remake is called Big Deez Productions and they’ve released a video about it.

The title of the revival has been announced: Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn, everything is in place, they just need the public to help. The amount raised currently stands at just over $65,000 and the goal is $450,000. If you’re interested in donating, the place to be is indiegogo!
