Respawn is Unsure About the Future of Titanfall 3

Titanfall

Too early to tell? In a recent interview Respawn co-founder Vince Zampella acknowledges that they are somehow unsure as to whether they will develop Titanfall 3.

Ok so, will there be a Titanfall 3 in the future? For those of you who have not played the second installment yet, this may seem too early an inquiry. However, looking at how well Titanfall 2 has performed among gamers and critics alike, it may be more of a rhetoric question than anything else. But the truth is, that Respawn Entertainment does not know yet. In a recent interview with Glixel, Respawn co-founder Vince Zampella talks about what makes a shooter great and also delves into the plans for the future. Or the lack of concrete plans, in this case.

Titanfall
Yo buddy, can we get EA moving about Titanfall 3?

Talking About Titanfall 3

When asked directly for the continuation of the Titanfall saga, Zampella confirms that they do not know yet. “The game is, critically, a huge success” he continues. “We’re really happy with all the reviews and the positive sentiment”. However, he also mentions that it’s too early to tell from a sales standpoint.

A direct blink-blink, nudge-nudge, to their publisher, Electronic Arts, the one that seems to take the bull by the horns. “We’d definitely like to tell more of the story and the universe,” Zampella also says. “I think it’s pretty safe to assume that we’ll explore more of it. EA might have announced more.” At that moment a publicist from Electronic Arts intervenes and confirms that EA is very “committed to the franchise” to which Zampella retorts in a way that seems to signal the lack of communications or concrete answers on that front.

What do you think? Do you feel ready for another round of Titanfall 3 in the future? In the meantime, head to our very own Titanfall 2 review to know why the game stands as a very praiseworthy sequel to its predecessor.
