Red Dead Redemption Playable on Xbox One

Ride, stranger, ride! Experience John Marston’s adventure throughout the Wild West all over again or for the first time thanks to Red Dead Redemption becoming backwards compatible on Xbox One.

For those of whom still own the original Xbox 360 disc, all that needs to be done is to put Red Dead Redemption into the Xbox One’s disc tray and install. If they game is owned through digitally means, go to the “My Games and Apps” section and download from there.

This is also true for the game’s DLC as well, all of which are free except for Undead Nightmare if players don’t already own it. Undead Nightmare is a standalone story, which has John Marston battling undead forces as he tries to figure out what is the cause for the dead to rise again. There’s even a multiplayer horde mode option to tackle with friends. Just think ‘Zombies’ from the Black Ops series but featured in the Wild West.

If players already previously own Undead Nightmare, all that needs to be done is to download the expansion pack onto the Xbox One console. Otherwise, Undead Nightmare costs $10 for anyone who doesn’t already own the expansion. That’s a pretty sweet price considering all the extra content that comes with it.

This information came from a post from Rockstar Newswire as it states:

“All versions of the game (Red Dead Redemption, Undead Nightmare and Red Dead Redemption: Game of the Year Edition) are compatible on Xbox One. And for those who did not experience it the first time around, the fright-filled Undead Nightmare story is available for download from the Xbox Games Store. Furthermore, anyone who doesn’t already have Red Dead Redemption as part of their collection can now get it directly from the Games Store on Xbox One.”

As of right now, Red Dead Redemption is available on Xbox One and costs $3 for Xbox Gold subscribers. Any player on the fence about this should heavily consider getting this game; there’s a reason the gaming community loves Red Dead Redemption. And for such a cheap price? This would be an extremely wise purchase.
