Reclaim Your Junk In Adventure Time: Hey Ice King! Why'd You Steal Our Garbage?!

We heard that a game based around the television show Adventure Time was coming, and as fans of the show, most of us were understandably interested.

When we heard that it was being developed by WayForward Studios, we were cautiously optimistic. Then the news came that series creator and madman Pendleton Ward would be working with the project, and we became hopeful. Now, we’ve got the latest details on the game, and it’s suddenly my most anticipated game of 2012.

Adventure Time: Hey Ice King! Why’d You Steal Our Garbage?!, as it’s now officially known, follows the adventures of heroes Finn and Jake as they fight to get their garbage back. You see, in his latest scheme to kidnap a princess, the evil Ice King has decided to build his own using materials he “collects” from the citizens of Ooo. Ward’s involvement is already apparent, and I hope that it carries over to preserving the look and over-the-top writing that made the series so popular.

Not much was made clear about the gameplay, but the press release mentioned that players will,

“Journey through the Land of Ooo in an offbeat adventure and discover perilous dungeons and unimaginable treasures, while playing as Finn and Jake in a unique action-adventure experience.”

For fans of the Adventure Time television show, this is shaping up to be a worthy addition to the franchise. For gamers, we might have a unique experience coming soon. Look out for Adventure Time: Hey Ice King! Why’d You Steal Our Garbage?! this fall, when it hits Nintendo 3DS and DS, developed by WayForward Studios and published by D3Publisher.
