Press Start | This is What We Played

Welcome to another edition of Press Start! This is where we talk about the games we’ve been playing this past week.

Jeff:

I’ve started LA Noire lately, and it is really, really absorbing. On the less cerebral side of things, I picked up Modern Warfare 3 and am trying to wrap up Resident Evil 6.

Jen:

I’ve played a little bit of SWTOR this week and a little bit of Grand Theft Auto: V. I still haven’t had enough time to finish the single player story.

Matt:

Just finished Arkham Asylum, which was outstanding. I can’t believe it’s taken me so long to get around to it. Now I’m off to get ready for Pokemon X/Y with some last-gen catch-up. Remember when you used to play Pokemon so much that you’d hear the theme music even when your Game Boy was turned off? That’s what the next couple of weeks are looking like for me. “I know it’s my destiny…”

Joel:

Finally got Grand Theft Auto 5 and I have been playing bits of it when I have a chance. Love the story and gameplay so far except that damn reticle for shooting it is easy to lose. Will be trying out some GTA Online this week. I have also been playing Guild Wars 2 and enjoying it, there is so much content that it can easily distract from what you set out to do. Septembers PS+ freebie Rayman Origins has been the main game on my Vita that I have been playing through. Replay value is big on that game especially if you are chasing the platinum trophy.

Ben:

Finished yet another playthrough of Dark Souls then moved to the Wind Waker HD. This is easily one of the best Zeldas and the graphics are now even more stunning. In fact, the game is so good, I’d say it is worth getting a Wii U for. Maybe. It’s a very good starting point if you’ve never played a Zelda before (shame on you). Oh and even though I loved sailing in the original, the new swift sail is awesome. Alas, I won’t be able to finish it before Beyond: Two Souls comes out.

Arnell:

Slowly working through The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD (Wii U). It is very pleasing to the eyes. I want to (but am not) screen capturing every single moment.
