Pre-Load Functionality Possibly Coming to PS4

According to a Tweet sent out by Sucker Punch, the developer behind inFAMOUS: Second Son, the ability to pre-load games onto a console before the game releases is (possibly) coming to the PS4 next month.

A fan anxiously awaiting the release of inFAMOUS: Second Son asked Sucker Punch if there was a way to pre-download the file before it releases on Friday, to which Sucker Punch replied:

“No preload on PS4 until April and for North America, the PS store will update at midnight PST… so 3am EST.”

The purpose of this functionality is to allow gamers to pre-load titles onto their consoles and then unlock the file on the release date, making games instantly available and eliminating those pesky download times!

Seems convenient right?  While Sony has yet to confirm this, it seems pretty possible considering a Sony developer was the first to mention it.

inFAMOUS: Second Son will be available tomorrow Friday, March 20th.
