Potential Buyer Found for All Points Bulletin

The story of All Points Bulletin is a tragic one, and when we last looked at Realtime Worlds it seemed like nothing could save the Dundee-based developer and their new, shiny, but tragically flawed creation. It seems however that there may finally be a light at the end of the tunnel for the troubles cops-and-robbers MMO.

Although the website is down, the patcher is still delivering news. In the October 22nd notes, the following bit of cryptic information appeared:

It’s looking like there might be light at the end of the tunnel for APB. The end of the administration process is apparently close and there appears to be a buyer for the game.

So! Who could this mystery buyer be? The internet is afire with speculation that it’s none other that Codemasters, based solely on the fact that a bloke who works at Codemasters retweeted the news. We here at games.on.net like to have a bit more information before commenting, which leaves us in the unfortunate position of… not being able to comment.

Regardless of its flaws the concept behind All Points Bulletin is one that would make an immensely exciting MMO, and if another company can pick it up, tweak it and make it work (or set up some Oceanic servers, at least!) then it’ll be a win-win for everybody.
