Pokémon Go Gameplay Leaked at SXSW

Pokémon Go was intended to make an appearance at GDC this year, but it seems that the first gameplay footage has been leaked at a SXSW panel.

The authenticity of the video is not certain, but assuming it’s the real deal John Hanke, Niantic Labs CEO, is showcasing the first gameplay footage of Pokémon Go during a presentation on augmented reality.

It appears that the way you throw your Pokéball has an affect on the rate of capture. Also, the player is given an assortment of Pokéballs from the tradition Pokéball to the Master Ball. After successfully capturing an Ivysaur, Hanke gives some insight on how regional play work.

If this turns out to be legitimate, you can expect an official announcement soon akin to when the first footage of Pokémon Sun & Moon were leaked a few weeks ago.
