What We Played for Week Ending January 15

This is a weekly segment where we share what games we are currently playing for our readers to get to know us a bit better. Said games can range from retro to current and from casual to FPS games. If we’re playing it, we’ll share it. Please feel free to comment with what your playing or your opinions on the games that we’re involved with.

David: My week’s mainly been populated by the ever awesome Battlefield 3 multiplayer, with the occasional hour of Bastion or Halo: Reach. I did also manage to spend some time with Rainbow Six Vegas 2 (timely, I know) and I’ve been pleasently surprised by it. It’s showing it’s age but it has a lot of unique aspects.

Brittany: MW3 DROP ZONE GAME TYPE. Pwning greedy noob cakes all night long. Just waiting for the map packs to come out for something new with this game. Also have been playing halo wars risk at home.

Jake: I spent a lot of time at the LAN center this week with friends playing lots of Heroes of Newerth. Also picked up Dead or Alive Dimensions for my 3DS. I like 3D boobs.

Jen: Star Wars: The Old Republic has consumed my gaming free time. I would like to get to level 50 before Mass Effect 3 drops and I’m pretty sure I will.

Greg: Skyrim. Lots of Skyrim. Finally beat Anduin tonight. Started Bastion.

John: Im stuck with only a 3DS and my phone for now due to first world problems. I’ve been playing Mario 3DS, VVVVVV 3D, Plants VS Zombies, and Dead Space for Android.

William: Let’s see. More SWTOR. Have been going through another playthrough of Dark Souls. Poking around with Beyond Good and Evil on the PS2… Just fiddling around. I’m kind of “in between projects” at the moment.

Bastion: Worth the hype?

Ben: I finally finished Skyrim after about 100 hours. Wont be going back until dlc comes out for it. Played through Bastion and it was a bit overrated from what people had said to me but still a very good game. So after that I went further into my backlog and started Dungeon Siege 3. While it’s nothing like 1 or 2 it’s still an enjoyable Diablo-esque loot based game.

Chris: Did just about everything I could do in Super Mario 3D Land so I’ve begun searching for a new on-the-go replacement. Tried Shinobi (skip it) for the 3DS and finished Aliens: Infestation (check it). These games are from a couple months back but I will try to get reviews on the site for 3DS players looking for new titles. Played some matches of King of Fighters XIII. This fighting game is amazing, unfortunately I still run into issues when trying to play matches online. Hope Atlus fixes it so players can enjoy this title as it was intended.
