What We Played | September 17 – 23

Welcome to Press Start! This is a weekly segment that dives into what we here at The Game Fanatics are currently playing. Feel free to leave a comment with what you’ve been playing or if you have any questions about the games that we are currently involved with.

Jeff: This week didn’t exactly go as I planned. Gran Turismo and Metal Gear were put on hold as Transformers War for Cybertron and GRID took over my gaming time. I also spent plenty of time in the Resident Evil 6 demo, which ranges from impressive to infuriating. I absolutely vow to return to Portable Ops soon, though, and other Resident Evils have been calling my name lately.

William: I’ve been trying out that La Pucelle: Tactics game. It’s interesting. Every tactics game I’ve played seems to have 1 core gimmick, and the Dark Portals in this game are interesting, but hard to use efficiently. I’ve also been going through The Last Story… slowly… I didn’t like the automatic combat at first, but I think as I earn more special attacks, the game will get more engaging.

Jen: Started to play more of my Jedi Shadow, who went up a few levels in SWTOR this past week. I’m also working on achievements for Rock Band Blitz on XBLA.

Ben: I had forgotten how much I liked Borderlands but was reminded when I got my hands on Borderlands 2 this week. It fixes a lot of the problems of the first game, which is great, but there are still some small issues. Regardless, I’m really enjoying it. The new gun types and everything make things super explode-y. And that’s how I want them. How can I say no to a grenade that explodes into 10 more grenades? I can’t. It’s impossible.
