What We Played | October 1 – 7

Welcome to Press Start! This is a weekly segment that dives into what we here at  are currently playing. Feel free to leave a comment with what you’ve been playing or if you have any questions about the games that we are currently involved with.

Jeff: Finally finished Resident Evil 4, along with the extra Ada missions, and I’m already looking forward to playing it again with the over-powered bonus weapons. I played Punch-Out!! for the first time this week, too, thanks to the Wii’s Virtual Console. It doesn’t have Iron Mike, nor is it on the NES, but the challenge is still there, the controls are still tight and responsive, and that’s all I need.

Jen: I played SWTOR all week once again. I finally got some time with my scoundrel but the majority of my SWTOR sessions were with my Jedi Shadow, which I am highly enjoying. I swear, it feels like my scoundrel will never get to level 50. At least she’s finally on Voss. I finally bought the Linkin Park pack #02 and sang some of those songs on Rock Band 3. Great thing about Rock Band Blitz, is that those songs that I buy for Rock Band 3, can be played in Rock Band Blitz, which was an ingenious idea. My childhood was revisited with NiGHTS into Dreams. Plays fantastic on XBLA. I still have my Sega Saturn version of the game, along with the joystick that went with the game, however I remember using the standard controller more.

Joel: I spent a little time playing Borderlands 2 until Tuesday October 2nd, the release of NBA 2K13. It has consumed my life and MyPlayer mode is always the most addicting game mode this game features. Collaborating on the review for this week on NBA 2K13 so it will continue to consume what is left of my time and soul.
