Pen and Paper RPG Brings Life to Cyberpunk 2077

Cyberpunk 2077 draws inspiration from a pen and paper RPG known as Cyberpunk 2020 and a not so simple cityscape. Mike Pondsmith takes us on a journey into his mind and how Cyberpunk 2077 became a reality.

A trailer for Cyberpunk 2077 came to everyone’s attention last week. Developed by CD Projekt RED, Cyberpunk 2077 is a highly story driven RPG game. In the late twenty-first century, violence and psychopaths run wild as tech and drugs take center stage. It is a darker world and an even darker society as body augmentations that were meant for good end up causing more problems than originally intended. And then, you have braindance. If you have a dull, boring life, braindance allows you to experience the emotion from someone’s life that is more rewarding than yours. Serving as digital recordings, braindance streams directly into the neural system and offers stimuli, muscle movements and the emotions of someone else. Live a life that you’ve only dreamed of, no matter how sick and twisted it may be.
“Working with Mike Pondsmith is a great experience for the studio. Many of the people behind Cyberpunk 2077 have played his game, and having his support is very important for us. It’s good to know what inspired him and what influenced his vision of the world. Our experience in video game storytelling and the technology , capable of building open-world games, combined with Mike’s vision will result in one of the most kick-ass futuristic RPGs, ” – Adam Badowski, CD Projekt RED studiohead
I for one would like to see actual gameplay from Cyberpunk 2077. For now, we have a spiffy trailer and loads of concept art, which can be seen here. There’s no release date yet nor set platform, however we do know that this will be a mature rated RPG game.

If you haven’t checked out the teaser trailer, please do so here.
