Overhaul Games and Atari are bringing Baldur’s Gate back to the masses with Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition. Scheduled to be released on September 18 for the PC (and shortly after for MAC, iPad, and Android), Baldur’s Gate will be available via a launcher from Beamdog’s site, who are the ones distributing the game. It has already been confirmed that the Enhanced Edition will not be available via Steam nor on consoles.
Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition will include the remastered version of the original Baldur’s Gate and the expansion pack, Tales of the Sword Coast. Eventually, downloadable content will be offered as well as mods for the game. The game has been reworked with fans in mind. There is cross platform multiplayer and matchmaking. You will be able to zoom in when using the android or iPad and the game is in a higher resolution than the original. Even the level cap has been raised but the story itself remains intact. Even so, there are new sidequests that will tie up any holes from the original and will surely give players hours of adventuring fun.
