Overwatch May get Some Cross Platform Play After All!

Overwatch

For those of us into our second week of Overwatch, we know just how addicting it can be. Well, now Blizzard has speculated that they may be casting a wider net so players can potentially duke it out with even more people online!

Since it’s release on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One two weeks ago Overwatch has become a bit of a sensation, people have been picking up the game in a frenzied excitement and subsequently fall in love. It’s had over 7 million players log on and experience the game since its release, making it one of Blizzard’s most successful game launches to date. Earlier we reported that Overwatch wouldn’t be getting a cross-platform version of online play, but this may no longer be true.

In a tweet on Overwatch developers have stated that they’re looking into cross-platform play between consoles. Xbox One and PS4, would be able to play with one another over Battle.net. The word is very fresh news however and the tweet uses the phrase “Keep an eye on cross-platform capabilities on the consoles,” so it’s by no means set in stone. But it does mean that they’re thinking about it, so that’s progress! Unfortunately for PC users they won’t be able to join in on the action, Blizzard has stated that those playing with a keyboard and mouse may have an unfair advantage over those using consoles.

For more Overwatch news you can check out our review on it here, or go to the Overwatch YouTube page and learn a little more about it.

Now we may be able to stop fighting over Xbox One vs. PS4 and play together as a group! Or ball your anger up and release it against the other console online, that’s really your call.
