The Movie About a Game Gets a Publisher for the Movie-Game

I’ve only seen a few shots and trailers for the upcoming Walt Disney Animation Studios’ movie, Wreck-It Ralph, but I’m already in love with it.

The movie has a great cast of voice actors and the plot just touches home for me as a gamer. But we all know the full circle of irony has to be completed before we can continue on with our lives. This is where the official game of the movie, Wreck-It Ralph, comes in.

Warning mini, mini spoilers: So a partnership was forged between Disney Interactive and Activision to make the movie, about a game and game characters, into a game. The game of the movie, of the game, will focus on the events after the movie takes place. Wreck-It Ralph will be fighting alongside his buddies, or baddies, to rid the cyber-world of Cy-Bugs in a side-scrolling, platforming adventure. The game will mainly focus between Wreck-It Ralph and Fix-It Felix, where users will be able to switch between the two characters on the Wii version of the game. So, I guess neither of them dies in the movie.

Wreck-It Ralph looks like it’ll be another great movie in 3D. Movie-games are notorious for under delivering, but I’m hopeful, all things considered. Wreck-It Ralph, the game, will debut alongside the movie on November 2, 2012 for the Wii, 3DS, and DS.
