Tales from the Borderlands

First on the list for the PlayStation 4 is Tales from the Borderlands. Published and developed by Telltale Games, best known for their The Walking Dead games, this series is set in the Borderlands universe. If you are not familiar with these games, it’s a episodic decision based game. The player finds themselves on the planet of Pandora, which contains a Vault filled with huge amount of treasures. This lures “Vault Hunters” hoping to obtain the treasures. The five episode story adapts to your playstyle. Your actions reflect the story, which can lead to different outcomes. Dare to play safe or dangerously? This game may be for you!

Abzû

The second game on the list is Abzû. Developed by Giant Squid Studios and published by 505 Games, this is a unique adventure game you don’t want to miss. From the same director and art director that brought us Journey, the player takes the role of a diver. Players explore the vast mysteries of the ocean, including ruins and ancient murals. Need a relaxing and breathtaking game? Abzû is a game you don’t want to miss!

Blood Knights

Next up, we have Blood Knights on the PlayStation 3. Developed by Deck13 Interactive and published by Kalypso Media, this is a action role-playing, hack and slash game that combines platformer aspects as well. The game has two playable characters: Jeremy, the vampire hunter, and Alysa a vampire that has become bound to him. The game can be played in either single-player or multiplayer mode. While in the midst of war between vampires and humans, players will move through levels and solve puzzles. Each stage also includes a boss battle at the end. Port Royale 3: Pirates and Merchants

Last of the PS3 games is Port Royale 3: Pirates and Merchants. Developed by Gaming Minds Studios and published by Kalypso Media, this is the third installment to the business simulation games Port Royale: Gold, Power and Pirates and Port Royale 2. The player is a Spanish commoner that leaves Spain to explore the New World. Set during the 16th and 17th centuries in the Caribbean, players manage their business simulator and fight battles in real-time. The objective is to conquer towns and then build, develop or destroy them. Need a challenge? This may be for you!

Laser Disco Defenders

Next, let’s head over to the PlayStation Vita games. First, let’s start with Laser Disco Defenders. Developed and published by Out Of Bounds, this is an intergalactic music shooter that will keep you on your toes. There are four characters to choose from, all vying for mighty Mirror Moon. What is the Mirror Moon? It’s an object that can project music across the galaxy for billions to hear! Unfortunately, evil Lord Monotone has stolen it and is creating chaos across the galaxy. Your mission, if you choose to accept, is to help the Laser Disco Defenders to retrieve the Mirror Moon. Do you think you can do it?

Type:Rider

Last on the list, and wrapping up the games for this month, is Type:Rider. Developed by Cosmografik and produced by AGAT – EX NIHILO and ARTEby, this is a unique educational game that can get you excited about fonts and characters. The player controls two dots as you maneuver them through levels learning the history of typography. In one level you even learn about the printing press!
