Mass Effect 3 Pushed to 2012

BioWare announced via their social network confirmation that Mass Effect 3, originally slated for a Q4 2011 release, is being pushed to 2012:

Today we have confirmed that Mass Effect 3 will be released in the first three months of 2012. The development team is laser focused on making sure Mass Effect 3 is the biggest, boldest and best game in the series, ensuring that it exceeds everyone’s expectations.”  said Casey Hudson, Executive Producer Mass Effect series.

We’ll have more details about specific dates as we get closer to release.

With this news comes two new Mass Effect 3 screenshots, perhaps to soften the blow of everyone who has been eagerly waiting for its release this year.

Perhaps it’s for the best that the game is pushed if it means a higher quality game. Admittedly, I feel a bit bummed that I won’t be playing Mass Effect 3 this year but considering the BioWare track record I’m sure come release time it will be worth the wait.

Are you happy that BioWare pushed the release to focus on making it better or should they have stuck with the momentum and hype to release it this year?
