Mafia III’s Newest Trailer Focuses on Lincoln Clay

Mafia III

The newest trailer for Mafia III revolves around the origins and motivations of Lincoln Clay, its main protagonist.

We knew already some snippets here and there thanks to the previous Mafia III trailers, and as the months pass by we learn more and more details about the next game in the franchise. On this occasion, 2K Games have pulled out a trailer that recounts the origins and driving forces of protagonist Lincoln Clay, which may not follow the exact path you were expecting for a video game protagonist of this kind.

Mafia III is All About Retribution

Revenge is a dish served cold, they say. In the case of Lincoln, it’s a dish served with guns and a lot of noise. His story is not a nice one.

Raised in the streets of New Bordeaux, Lincoln soon finds a family in an organized crime group. After some years, a higher sense of duty calls. He’s sent to fight the Vietnam war, where he’ll learn that family isn’t who you are born with, it’s who you are willing to die for. After years of service he’s set to return to the city that rose him. However, in 1968, the rules have changed.

As the balance of power shifts throughout the city, Clay will discover a muddy story of betray and treason within the criminal organizations of the city. As the forces of the city strike Lincoln, he wakes up with new found dedication. With the help of three companions called Vito, Burke and Cassandra, he’ll set the wheel of vengeance in motion. What follows is of course undisclosed and will depend on our actions as we traverse New Bordeaux and hold our shotguns with style. This is Mafia, after all.

Mafia III is arriving for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on October 7. This particular month cannot arrive soon enough.
